5 REASONS TO PUT YOUR GLOVES ON THIS AUTUMN

With the days getting longer and the new school year underway, autumn is the perfect time to create new routines and step outside of your comfort zone. This autumn it’s all about putting on the gloves and trying something new like boxing.

Check out five reasons why you should try boxing this autumn below.

  1. Health & Wellness

Boxing is an all-around full-body workout which brings many physical benefits, such as improved strength, balance, coordination, and cardiovascular fitness. As it’s a high-intensity workout, you’ll be sure to have a great night’s sleep which is also an added bonus!

Take your health and fitness to the next level this autumn and ensure you’re looking after your body as winter looms.

P.s – we advise you to start with short sessions and build up as you progress.

  1. Try A Free Boxing Session

There’s always a boxing session you can try – some even for free! If you’re in the Croydon area, why not come along to one of Gloves Not Gunz sessions at our boxing club? Learn from some of our experienced trainers in an urban centre with a great vibe. Plus, it’s completely free!

  1. Improve Your Mental Health

As the weather gets colder and the days get shorter, the autumn and winter months can take a toll on your mental wellbeing. You may find yourself feeling less motivated and struggling with your day-to-day routine. Boxing can have a positive impact on your mental health as it can help you to channel and release emotions like anger, stress, and frustration. It’s also a great way to help you focus and improve your concentration.

  1. Make Connections

Boxing is a great way to meet new people and make connections and friends. Whether you’re in a group session or 1-2-1 with a partner or coach, boxing enables you to develop communication and trust. Plus, if you’ve had a hard day or want to vent, it can also offer the chance to speak to others and share similar stories, all whilst letting out your emotions on the bag.

Gloves Not Gunz prides itself on its trainers who are not only highly qualified in boxing but also mentoring. You’ll meet a variety of people all with different backgrounds, motivations, and stories, and we’re positive you’ll have someone in your corner in no time!

  1. Learn a New Skill

It’s common to spend more time indoors during the autumn months due to the weather and darker evenings, and whilst a Netflix show or two can be great (as can a good ol’ TikTok scroll sesh!), it’s also important to get out and about. Make this autumn the one where you build strength, fitness, discipline, and come out swinging! Boxing is also a great way to master the art of self-defence – another great skill to have.

Whilst boxing is fun, fast and at times full of unknowns, it can also be extremely daunting, especially when you first step into the gym or boxing ring. But once you’ve taken that first step, you’ll go from feeling like the undercard to a boxing champion this autumn in no time at all.

Keep up to date with the Gloves Not Gunz website and Instagram to find out about our upcoming boxing sessions and programmes.
